The 2018 Polar Plunge: Our Weekend Recap

We’re back from Norris Lake and our 2018 Earth Month Polar Plunge—and needless to say, it was a weekend well spent. Keep reading to get a glimpse into our itinerary, and how you can continue to help us in pursuit of our mission trip!

HOW IT WENT

Saturday, May 5

We closed the salon at lunch and loaded up the 12-passenger van. Taylor drove us to Tennessee (and yes, honking the horn all the way through the tunnel between state lines), and while it took longer than expected, we had a great time. We had dinner at our favorite local spot on the water, Bubba’s, and enjoyed their open dance floor under the stars.

Sunday, May 6

We spent most of the day on the boat, but finally took our Polar Plunge around noon. (As expected, it was quite chilly!) Well worth the shivers, all of our proceeds go towards our mission trip to the Dominican Republic with Wine to Water. The date will be determined when we get closer to our $15,000 goal. Afterwards, we spent the evening munching on hot dogs and hamburgers, and enjoying an evening filled with old fashioned, much-needed Joli family time.

Monday, May 7

Sunburns and all, we arrived back at the salon in the early afternoon to open back up.

WHAT WE LEARNED

While we have a long way to go to reach our goal of $15,000, the memories we made and quality time spent that weekend makes the journey that much more worth it. Plus, we could all use a little unplugging every once in a while—it’s good for the soul, and even better with those we love surrounding us.

To reach our goal, we are currently selling popsockets with Aveda’s signature A—on sale for $7 each, or 2 for $10. To purchase yours, stop by the salon—we can’t thank you enough for your support during Earth Month, and always!
